Swiss Epic Race report:
2020 threatened to have 5 years of aspiration& preparation to do this event come to nothing. Luckily, through lots of hard work from the organisers and event staff it went ahead, attracting some of the sports biggest names and teams who were looking to rescue some quality racing from their season.

The race follows a pair racing format where both riders must be within 2 minutes of each other at all times. After a few issues and crashes on the first two stages unfortunately my team mate had to withdraw from the race which left me to compete in the individual riders category. Given that the field comprised some of the sports top riders, somewhat measured goals were needed. Steady pacing and have a blast on the descents was the strategy and thanks to years of riding Scotlands excellent techy singletrack, a good result was still managed. Fastest British rider by around an hour, after losing well over an hour on other Brits in the first few days, was nice to get.
